The purpose of emergency lighting is to ensure that in the event of a power failure safe lighting is provided, automatically and for a suitable time, within specified areas of your building. The objective of an emergency lighting system is to provide a safe route out from the building for all the occupants illuminating the area by means of appropriate lighting and directional signs.
Your building may require different lighting system within different parts of the building in order to give sufficient illumination for the specified area, this can be determined by means of a Risk Assessment.

Like with any emergency system it will regular checks and maintenance to ensure that it remains operational at all times, the system will contain some means of a battery backup system which as you are no doubt aware do not last a lifetime.

We can carry out regular checks to ensure your batteries are cycled within your system and that your lights will illuminate during a power failure. All the works we carry out will be done in accordance with BS.5266 and records will be logged within your site safety files.
